Dr.
Richard Terry is a 1988 graduate of the New York College
of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, New York. He completed
a one year rotating internship at the Interfaith Medical
Center in Brooklyn, New York and completed his residency
in Family Medicine at the University of Rochester/Highland
Hospital in Rochester, New York.
Dr. Terry is a clinical associate professor of Family Medicine
at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and SUNY
Upstate Medical University. He has served as the Director
of Osteopathic Medical Education at Wilson Memorial Hospital
since 2002 and the Director of the Family Medicine
Residency since 1998. Dr. Terry is also the President of
the New York State Osteopathic Medical Society. He has been
involved in osteopathic education for the past 15 years
and is an innovative educator. Wilson Memorial Hospital
is one of the oldest and most successful dually accredited
programs in the country. Dr. Terry has given numerous national
presentations on dual accreditation and has published on
this topic as well.
Dr Terry has a special interest
in cosmetic medicine including laser treatments, facial
peels, botox and dermal fillers.
Dr.
Terry's other interests are in the area of obesity and eating
disorders. He has lectured regionally and nationally on
this topic and has also coauthored a book on weight management
entitled "Tomorrow's Weigh - The No-Diet Way to Lose Weight."
Dr. Terry is the founder and Medical Director of the Southern
Tier Eating Disorder Program. He is also the editor of the
Obesity section in the Dyna Med - Dynamic Medical Education
System and wrote the Obesity chapter in the Essentials of
Family Practice, edited by Robert E. Rakel, MD in 2005.
Dr.
Terry is an avid runner and down-hill skier. He has completed
nine marathons. He resides in Apalachin, New York with his
wife and four children.
